The Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association (VPPPA) is the leading organization dedicated to cooperative occupational safety, health and environmental management systems. The VPPPA, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is a member-based association, providing a network of over 1,800 companies and worksites that are involved in or in the process of applying to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) or the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) and other government agencies that are developing or implementing cooperative recognition programs.
The VPPPA provides occupational safety, health and environmental leaders with networking and educational offerings, up-to-the-minute legislative information, industry advancements, preferred vendors and consultants dedicated to VPP, mentoring opportunities, professional development and volunteer opportunities. VPPPA Chapters
VPPPA Chapters are an established association presence in all of the 10 OSHA regions. Each Chapter is headed by an elected Board of Directors that consist of safety and health leaders; both hourly and salary employees from union and non-union sites. Each Chapter is governed by a set of bylaws that are modeled after the national VPPPA bylaws, but are tailored to the needs and environments of the region. The Chapter Boards, committees and volunteers are committed to providing local networking opportunities, educational sessions, VPP outreach, establishing mentoring relationships and hosting annual conferences within each of the regions. Each VPPPA Chapter works closely with their respective OSHA VPP regional managers, state-plan contacts and other VPP representatives. Mission
